About 10 years ago while living in Colorado, we had to board our dogs for the first time. Finding that most boarding kennels are like the "shelter" where dogs are kept in runs or crates until their owner returns. ..was unthinkable for our precious 5 dogs!

  That is when we dreamed up a facility like Ventura Highway. We thought of a place with large "rooms" and soft beds and beautiful yards where the dogs could get out and romp around and play with other dogs. We thought of an office where we would let at least 10 dogs hang out with us all day instead of being cooped up in a cage.

   In early 2001, here on North Ventura Avenue, we began to make our dream...come true. Starting with an historic 2-acre old farm, and not much knowledge about the technicalities of dog-boarding (we did know that we and other people REALLY love their dog) , we put up some fencing, cleaned out grandpa's old barn, brought in a trailer for an office, got the phone number 643-DOGS, named it, and. . .

  Today we are in our seventh year of taking loving care of thousands and thousands of your beautiful "doggie children". The "face" of our facility has changed a bit over the past seven years (we hope you like the new buildings, the paved parking lot, and the flowers), but what we knew in our hearts at the beginning is the same as what we know now, and that is that people LOVE their dogs, and don't want to and won't leave them just anywhere!
